Genealogical research services
Using online databases, archives, digitized books, newspapers, periodicals, and other resources, I can locate and obtain obtain sources about your family history and prepare a report based on my findings.
Was your family from Russia, Ukraine or Poland? Perhaps Lithuania or Hungary? Or someplace else in Yiddishland? Was your grandmother a decorated Red Army officer or was she involved in a cause célèbre in Warsaw? Where was your grandfather's Budapest villa? When was he sent to the Soviet Gulag? You'll be surprised how much one can find out from half a world and a whole century away!
I have used my expertise in history, archival research, and Jewish genealogy to unearth my own family's history. Check out my blog for some breathtaking stories about my quest!
*Full disclosure: I also have at least reading knowledge of Ukrainian, German, Arabic, Old Church Slavonic, Aramaic, and Latin. Sadly, though, none well enough to take on translation projects.
